Church to establish agric varsity

NSUKKA—The Catholic Men’s Organization, CMO, Nsukka Dioceses, is to establish a University of Agriculture in Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area, Enugu State in view of the vast arable area.

This was made known by the Dean of the Adani Catholic Deanery,    Rev. Father Frederick Omegoha, who represented the Bishop of Nsukka Diocese, Rev. Professor Godfrey Onah on the occasion. He added that the church was determined to make the locality the food basket of the state and the nation in general.

He spoke at the Sacred Heart Parish, Nkpologwu, during a thanksgiving service for Senator Chuka Utazi, who is a native of the area, explaining that the local government area has been known throughout the state for abundance of agricultural produce over the   years.

“It is of interest that the CMO of the diocese has concluded arrangements to establish a university of agriculture at the local government area to boost food production in the state and the country.”
