PORT HARCOURT—Unidentified hoodlums, suspected to be robbers, yesterday, invaded Government Primary Health Centre in Port Johnson Street, Borokiri area of Port Harcourt, killing two security guards attached to the health facility.
The deceased were identified as Tom Adoki and Dabelema Ada.
The hoodlums, who invaded the healthcare facility in the early hours of yesterday, were said to have entered the government-owned facility with dangerous weapons and severely injured three people, killing two on the spot, while the only survivor is now receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital.
Vanguard gathered that the killers dispossessed the staff of the hospital of their phones and other valuables, before taking the attack to the residential quarters of the staff located within the premises.
The victims could not make distress calls to security men for help, having lost their phones to the hoodlums.
A source privy to the incident, who spoke at Braithwaite Memorial Specialist Hospital, where the corpses were deposited, said the bandits met the three guards sleeping in the security room.
The source revealed that the hoodlums broke into almost all the rooms at the quarters and collected phones from all the residents.
It was learned that the guards were discovered in the pool of their blood after the robbers had left the scene.
At press time, police were yet to comment on the matter.
