At least, not at the level it used to be, because today, right in your mobile phone, also lies the airtime you need to load and make calls. The only thing is to know how to access it.

For instance, an IT based company that plays in the convenience channel space, CallPhone Ltd recently launched a platform, www.easypaypadi.com meant for subscribers to easily buy their air time

The channel offers convenience to the public in buying airtime at any time of the day with any bank debit card.  What this means is that since majority of Nigerians access the internet through their phones, one can also buy the airtime to enable him make calls, from the same phone

However, the platform also offers other value-added services including bill payments such as DSTV, Electricity bills among others. Owners of the website said the process has been simplified for customers where transaction can be completed within one minute.

Executive chairman of the company Mr Ugochukwu Duru said the Company’ website accepts all Nigerian banks issued card, and has been described as most exciting by customers who has used the platform.

He said major Nigerian telecommunication networks including MTN, Globacom, Airtel, Etisalat and Visafone airtimes can be purchased from the channel with ease.
