PORT HARCOURT— Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, has appointed Professor Blessing Didia as new acting Vice Chancellor of the Rivers State University of Science and Technology.
According to a statement by his media aide, Mr Opunabo Nko-Tariah, the governor also appointed Prof Boma Oruwari as acting Deputy Vice Chancellor of the university. The former Vice Chancellor, Prof Barineme Fakae has completed his tenure.
In another development, the governor has promised to deliver on his campaign promises to the state.
The governor who gave the assurance when he inspected the Abonnema township road bridge under construction, stressing that he would reward the overwhelming vote he got from the people with quality performance.
“We will also rehabilitate the Abonnema General hospital to ensure that the people have access to quality healthcare,”he said.
Responding, the Amayanabo of Abonnema, King Gbobo Bob-Manuel commended Governor Wike for completing the abandoned road.
He also thanked the governor for upgrading the Abonnema stool to a first class status. He assured the governor of the support of the people.
