By Marie-Therese Nanlong

Jos—Despite their “illegal” dissolution, embattled local government councils’ chairmen in Plateau State have said they had no evil intentions against the state governor, Simon Lalong.

The council bosses said they would rather pray for the governor to succeed in administering the state.

Caleb Mutfwang, Chairman of Mangu Local Government Area and State Secretary of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria, ALGON, who spoke for his colleagues, stated that the success of the governor in governance would guarantee a better life for the people of the state.

Mutfwang, who spoke during a thanksgiving service organised in his honour at COCIN LCC, Ampang West, Mangu Local Government Area of the state, said the word of God had instructed Christians to pray for leaders in authority, adding that they would, as council chairmen, continue pray for the governor to succeed for the betterment of the state.

He said: “The word of God has instructed us in his Holy Book to pray for those in authority and we will continue to pray for Governor Lalong to succeed as the leader of the state.”
