We give back to society through education — Saheed

Former member of Lagos House of  Representatives and the founder of De-Yet group of schools, Okokomaiko, Hon Taiwo Saheed has vowed to enhance better development and empowerment of the society through education. He made this known during the end of session/valedictory/prize giving day of the school.

The Hon. Who represented Ojo Constituency 1 in the 6th Assembly said his idea of establishing De-Yet schools comprising of Nursery, Primary and College is to provide qualitative education through enabling environment, quality standards and above all qualitative teachers within the host community.

Hon. Saheed, ‘’De-Yet schools is an international- community based one that is run by competent staff within the community. The staffing most especially for me is to give back to the community. This will enable them benefit and at the same time contribute to the well being of the school and the  society at  large. This does not mean that outside staff are not employed but that the immediate society benefit from the school.

Speaking on the success of the school, the Hon Saheed  said the school which will be 5 come the end of years; its standard is incomparable to others schools. This standard made the school to get approval by the Lagos State education body; the population is another success story and the fees charged via the standard offered is really affordable.

For the chairman of the PTA, Mr Alani Danlami, this year’s end of session party is unique in that  we parents defied rain to come watch our wards performed and showcased what they are taught. According to him, considering the prestige and quality standard the school offers, no parent would seat at home at this day.

On the fees of the school, Mr Danlami advised that parents should not look on what they spend on their wards provided the wards get quality education.

For Mrs Opeloye Edoku a parents of one the Nursery graduand, Lily Edokun, her joy knew no bounds as her child who started from crèche with the school now speaks with clear intonation and diction.

Mr Edokun, ‘’ my daughter age 3 now speaks through her noise and her pronunciation is higher than her mates. For this am grateful to De-Yet group of schools.

The out going Head boy of the school, Chukwuma Obiajulu expressed delight for passing through the cradle of the school in making overcome his fears and making him an outspoken and responsible person.

‘When I joined the school, I was shy and timid; now I can comport myself and express my self academically, morally and socially any time and any where’ said Obiajulu
