Akure—The  Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Akure, Ondo State yesterday reserved ruling   on an application for the recounting of used and unused ballot paper during the election into Okitipupa/Irele federal constituency.

Chairman of the three member tribunal Justice Obojor Ogar,   said the panel would rule on the application for recounting by the petitioner on July 29 this year to know may be there would be a recounting or not.

The  All Progressives Congress, APC candidate in the election, Mr Oluwole Akinmoyero had filed a petition to challenge the election of a member of the House of Representatives, Prince Mike omogbehin of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP on the ground that there were electoral irregularities during March 28 poll in the constituency.

Counsel to the petitioner  Dr Tunji Abayomi in an application brought before the tribunal urged the tribunal to order INEC to bring all the ballots to the courtroom for recounting   in order to prove that there was illegal allocation of void votes to the PDP candidate.
