By Peter Okutu

AbaKALIKI—New Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, Ebonyi State Command, Adeyinka Fasiu has ordered vandals to desist from vandalizing  petroleum pipelines across the state as the command would no longer tolerate such act in the state.

Fasiu handed down the warning while resuming officially at the Command headquarters in Abakaliki.

The commandant further called on petroleum product marketers to stop  adulteration of petroleum products in their bid to make profit at the expense of the people of the  state.

He stressed that anybody caught in the act would be punished according to the law.     According to him, his administration would uphold  the core mandates of  the  corps, which include anti-vandalism, monitoring and supervision of the Private Guard Companies, PGC, fight against kidnapping and anti-terrorism and adulteration of petroleum products.

He said: “I have to follow the  core mandate of the corps  in terms of anti vandalization drive, the monitoring and supervising of the  Private Guard Companies, PGC, and the issue of kidnapping and terrorism. I am going to reach out to all my men in the 13 LGAs of the state to put in place 24 hour monitoring  and surveillance of all these vandals so as to checkmate them.”
