Lobi Stars forward Anthony Okpotu reckons his final goal in the 3-3 draw with champions Kano Pillars contributed in some part to the dismissal of Coach Okey Emrodi by the club’s board..

Lobi Stars surprised even themselves last weekend, coming back from three goals down to earn a deserved 3-3 draw against Pillars  in a week 19 match at the Aper Aku Stadium.

With Pillars leading 3-0, Lobi came back from the dead with strikes from Akleche Enokela, Abdulrahman Bashir and Okpotu, who later said that his final goal was the  hammer that drove the nail into the coffin of Emrodi.

“We were shocked when Pillars scored twice and made it 3-0 in the second half, but I charged the team not to be discouraged. At that point, we were determined to rescue the team from what seemed like an obvious defeat and thank God, we completed the comeback with my goal, which somehow had an effect in the sack of Emrodi”  he said.
