Five facts about 2016 Olympic Games football qualifying competition in Africa:

— Eleven of the 15 contenders for three places in Brazil have qualified before for the Olympics

— They are Algeria, Egypt, Gabon, Ivory Coast, Mali, Morocco, Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa, Tunisia and Zambia

— The four contenders seeking a first Olympics appearance are Congo Brazzaville, Sierra Leone, Uganda and Zimbabwe

— After 20 goals in six first-round qualifiers at an average of 3.33 per game, the 14 second-round eliminators produced 26 goals at an average of just 1.85 per game

— Footballers born on or after January 1 1993 are eligible for the qualifiers, but three over-age players are permitted at the finals
