WARRI—THE Ijaw Peoples Development Initiative, IPDI, yesterday, pointed fingers at President Muhammadu Buhari, saying that with his body language and actions so far, he was laying ambush for Niger-Deltans.

Mr Austin Ozobo, leader of IPDI however, added that Niger-Deltans would vehemently resist the attempt to subjugate them.

He said “Ex-agitators should be paid their over three months amnesty stipends and training arrears, which the Federal Government is owing them to avoid endangering innocent lives of Niger Deltans and save the reign of unwanted and avoidable bombs and shells on slight provocation by ex-agitators.

“The delay and non compliance in payment of amnesty stipends and training arrears by the Federal Government in the past three months has forced many ex-militants receiving skill acquisition trainings in foreign countries to be stranded and they have started deserting their training centres.

“The region is now in apprehensive situation as ex-militants have started feeling witch-hunted by the attitude of the Federal Government and such is a threat to the existing peace in the region and capable of endangering innocent lives of people in the region.

Ozobo said Buhari was deliberately treating matters that concern the region with disdain because he wants Niger Deltans to fall into his premeditated trap.
