ABEOKUTA–Scores of members of Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, Wednesday, staged a peaceful protest at the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta over alleged plan to retrench over 2,000 workers in Universities’ Staff Schools .
The SSANU during the peaceful protest alleged that the government has directed all vice-chancellors to stop paying workers of Staff Schools of universities which the union said could result to loss of jobs by over two thousands members working in staff schools in the country.
The protesters were led by Vice -President, SSANU in South West, Alfred Jimoh, the acting Ogun state chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Dare Ilekoya and the branch Chairman of SSANU, Abdul Sobur Salam.
