MAIDUGURI—Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno State yesterday swore in the newly-appointed Secretary to the State Government, SSG, along with the Chief of Staff, COS, and two Special Advisers, asking them to discharge their responsibilities of moving the state forward, despite the security challenges in the North East region.

Those sworn-in included Alhaji Usman Jidda Shuwa, Alhaji Modu Alhaji Musa, Isa Umar Gusau and Mr Hassan Musa Dlakwarespectively.

Shettima said, “Your appointments and subsequent swearing in was based on your integrity, transparency and wealth of experiences in governance and public service.

“The office of the SSG is the clearing house for all government transactions, before they are implemented for the betterment of our people affected by insurgency.

”All of you here today for this swearing in ceremony; should as a matter of policy and urgency cultivate a comprehensive understating on how we could collectively rebuild and rehabilitate all the Boko Haram destroyed towns and villages in 22 council areas of Borno State.”
