Working on the cutting edge of contemporary fashion with a fusion of Afro/urban and western flavour, young and relatively new fashion designer, Yetty D, is definitely going to prove to be a name to remember in the coming years. The new kid on the bloc, made her debut entrance into the Nigeria and Africa fashion scene with her Revolution by Yetty D collection at the just concluded Africa Fashion Week Nigeria (AFWN) 2015, held from 23-24 May, at the Eko Hotel and Suites Lagos.
Tagged Revolution by Yetty D, the capsule collection came in ‘BOLD X PRINTS’, with eighty percent of the fabrics from the Da Viva Fabrics range, sponsors of this year’s show.
The collection which was inspired solely by Yetty’s journey back to Nigeria, Africa and the everyday life and affairs that happens in the city of Lagos were in bold prints and colours that sums up how colourful and alive Lagos is. Her love for designing outfits that are versatile is apparent through this collection which can be an everyday wear, while a few pieces from the collection will be for the red carpet, and eighty percent of the fabrics are from the Da Viva Fabrics range.
Yetty D is the creation of Uk based Nigerian designer Yetunde Ogunnubi. It is an Indie brand with fusion of Afro/urban and western flavour, inspired by contemporary art, hip hop fashion, and rock. The brand is exclusively creative and, individualistic on the idea of innovation and versatility is the key with a focus on women, menswear, and kids-wear.
Yetty D ends each creative experience with unique, one off piece with limited edition clothing that makes her style stand out amongst her contemporaries, and makes one to reckon with in future.
