The Commissioner representing Ndokwa nation on the board of Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC, Sir Kenny Okolugbo, has lamented the poor state of electric power in the country and the poor distribution network, which he said was compounded by the poor co-operation among distribution companies.
Speaking during the commissioning of 33Kva transformer given by DESOPADEC to Osemele community in Ndokwa West, Okolugbo commended Delta State government for the provision of transformers to rural communities.
He further lamented that despite the largest gas reserve located in Ndokwa, and the location of 480 Mw station in Okpai, electric power generation and transmission was still a sorry situation in Ndokwa.
Meanwhile, Okolugbo has charged Ndokwa youths to imbibe the culture of sports as a way of expanding growth in human capacity development.
He made the call at the finals of Okolugbo Democracy Day Cup, in Delta State.
Okolugbo promised to explore his close relationship with the leadership of Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, to help further the careers of the talents he observed during competition finals.
