UMUAHIA—The All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, governorship candidate in last April elections in Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, has congratulated the new Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Yakubu Dogara, on their elections.

In a statement in Umuahia, Dr. Otti expressed confidence in the ability of the two leaders to effectively handle the affairs of the National Assembly. He said he was confident that they would “deploy their wealth of experience, maturity and network garnered over the years to further deepen democracy in Nigeria”.

Otti described the senate president and the speaker as “intelligent, bold, experienced and visionary leaders, who have steadily graduated to the pinnacle of the nation’s political leadership”.

He specifically extolled the virtues of the senate president, who he described as a chip of the old block, for having successfully and progressively sustained the legacy of his legendary politician-father, late Senator Olusola Saraki.

Otti also congratulated the deputy senate president and deputy speaker on their victory and expressed the hope that the new leadership of the 8th National Assembly would sustain the peace and stability that characterized the 7th assembly.
