Motorcyclist crushed, 3 injured in Bauchi auto crash

Bauchi—A motorcyclist was yesterday crushed to death at Tambari Housing Estate junction, along Bauchi-Jos road in Bauchi State.

The incident, which occurred around 7.30 pm, happened when the motorcycle rider, identified as Nuhu Musur, 27, collided with a Honda Civic car with number plate AA878JMA.

Vanguard learned that the rider was trying to manoeuvre between two speeding trucks when he rammed into the car and died on the spot.

Confirming the incident, the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Haruna Mohammed, said that four persons were involved in the crash, including the motorcycle rider, the driver of the Honda Civic car and two other passengers.

The PPRO said the driver of the Honda Civic car, identified as Moses John, was trying to overtake another vehicle in front of him and in the process, collided with the Boxer motorcycle.

“The incident happened at about 7.30pm around the Tambari Housing Estate along Bauchi-Jos road.

‘’The rider was trying to manoeuvre between two trucks and in the course of doing that he lost control and collided with the Honda vehicle which was also trying to overtake another vehicle in front of him.

“The two passengers, along with the driver of the Honda vehicle, sustained injuries but nobody died in the vehicle,” he said.

DSP Mohammed said the scene of the crash was visited by the police traffic section attached to the GRA Division, adding that all the victims were rushed to ATBU Teaching Hospital for medical attention.
