Akure—Ondo State government on Tuesday presented staff of office to the new traditional ruler of Akure Kingdom, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, Odundun II.
Aladelusi was installed as the 48th Deji of Akure after the demise of Oba Adebiyi Adesida.
Aladelusi was unanimously selected by the kingmakers on Sunday and was subsequently approved by the State Executive Council on Monday.
Gov. Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State said the installation of Adeludi was part of the present administration’s efforts to ensure peaceful existence among communities and towns.
Mimiko, represented by his Deputy, Alhaji Lasisi Oluboyo, said the installation of the new monarch marked the beginning of a new era in Akure.
