Buhari urged to cut cost of governance in 100 days

ASABA—EXECUTIVE Director of Centre for the Vulnerable and the Underprivileged, CENTREP, in Delta State, Mr. Oghenejabor Ikimi, has advised President Muhammadu Buhari to cut down the cost of governance and deregulate the downstream oil sector of the economy within his first 100 days in office.

Ikimi, in a statement yesterday, said: “We believe that the above would sanitize the petroleum industry and eliminate fake subsidy payments by the Federal Government, which sometimes runs into trillions of naira.

“Other long term measures that should be taken by the Federal Government to eliminate persistent fuel scarcity nationwide should include the renovation of all our comatose refineries, the provision of a good road network and a sound railway system for easy distribution of petroleum products by marketers.”
