AKURE—THE first female Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Ms Jumoke Akindele was Monday  returned unopposed as the 8th Assembly was inaugurated.

The new House of Assembly is comprised of 21 members of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP and five members of the opposition All Progressive Congress, APC.

Akindele, who was elected unopposed by the new Assembly of 26 members pledged that the legislators would work with the executive arm of government for the development of the state.

The 8th Assembly was inaugurated by the governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko  following the dissolution of the 7th Assembly.
