A former deputy governor of Abia State, Comrade Chris Akomas, says the state government owes him N425million  as well as pension and other entitlements.

Akomas, now a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, on July 30, 2010, resigned  as deputy to former Gov. Theodore Orji, over irreconcilable differences.

The former deputy governor told journalists in Umuahia that the money accumulated because he was not paid for a long time while serving as deputy governor.

“As at the time I resigned, the state government was owing me N425million because I was not paid for a long time. It is just that  I am not the noise making type. After leaving office, they are owing me pension and other entitlements. They have not paid me up till now. It has been a matter for the media. I have been in court for it and we are following it.

“But one thing I know is that the money will be paid because I worked for Abia people. No individual can stop me from getting the money. If I don’t get it today, it will be someday because I worked for it and will get it.”

He urged APC faithful to join hands with the leadership to build the party in the state, assuring that with the quality of people in APC, it won’t be long before the party takes over governance.
