UGHELLI—Six suspected armed robbers have been shot dead by the police in the Delta State.

It was learned that three of the suspects were killed in a gun duel with the police Friday night in the Ughelli metropolis, Ughelli North Local Government Area of the state.

Two suspected armed robbers were killed in Afiesere community and another in Iyede, Isoko North Local Government Area.

Briefing newsmen on the Friday incident, Area Commander in charge of the Ughelli Area command, Mr. Alali Pedro, said the police had engaged a gang of armed robbers operating in the metropolis “and three of them were gunned down.”
