NIS matriculates 111 students

The National Institute for Sports, Lagos yesterday held its 2015 matriculation ceremony in which one hundred and eleven students took part in. The brief but impressive ceremony which was presided over by the Acting Director of the Institute, Dr (Mrs Gloria Obajimi was witnessed by heads of departments, students, relatives and members of the press.

The highlight of the event was the oath-taking exercise by the students representative, Abrakasa Sampson who, on behalf of the students promised to behave according to the rules and regulations of the school.

Sampson, however, urged the school to look into electricity, water and the school’s lift which will ease the movement of physically handicapped students and enhance their learning.

Responding, Obajimi assured, “we will do our best to put things right in order to ensure you come out in flying coulours.

“In this environment, you will have enormous opportunities to deepen your education in the area of sports, expand your understanding of the sports world and the society at large.”
