Ex-militant leaders condemn attacks on Kuku

By Onoja Innocent

Niger Delta ex-militant leaders, under the Phase 2 of the Amnesty programme, have faulted allegations of favouritism, funds mismanagement and other allegations levelled against the chairman of the amnesty programme, Mr. Kingsley Kuku, by a group of ex-militant leaders, saying that the allegations were baseless, unfounded, and politically motivated.

Addressing newsmen, the Bayelsa State Chairman, Phase 2 of the amnesty programme, Mr. Stephen Ebisinte, warned mischief-makers to desist from running down the amnesty programme and stop the orchestrated attacks on Kuku.

Ebisinte said that the amnesty programme had been in progress and that some disarmed youths of the region were still in foreign countries undergoing various training programmes, stressing that it was disappointing that some ex-militant leaders had decided to take politically motivated propaganda against one of their own.
