Presidfent-elect, Buhari
By Tom Moses
Presidfent-elect, BuhariUYO—The Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Transport, Prince Godwin Ntukudeh, has expressed optimism that the president-elect, Genral Muhammadu Buhari, would not succumb to pressure by members of All Progressives Congress, APC, to upturn the victory of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidate, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, in the April 11, governorship election.
Ntukudeh was of the conviction that the president-elect would gleefully adopt Mr. Emmanuel in view of his excellent track-record in the banking sector to complement his agenda for good and accountable government.
Speaking in an interview in Uyo, yesterday, Ntukudeh noted that Udom Emmanuel, having led reputable financial institutions around the world for years, would be an asset that the president-elect, Buhari, will love to work with in order to achieve his agenda for the country.
He said that the election which produced Emmanuel as the Akwa Ibom State governor-elect was a reflection of the overwhelming position of the people of the state and as such, those who were expecting Buhari to upturn the result of the said elections were living in the world of illusion.
He encouraged those who were not comfortable with the emergence of Mr. Emmanuel to avail themselves of the elections tribunal provided by the constitution for all aggrieved persons instead of expecting the incoming President to stand against the collective decision of the people of Akwa Ibom State.
