Mr. Israel Akpodoro has described the appointment and subsequent confirmation of Mr. Solomon Arase as substantive Inspector General of Police as the best appointment by the outgoing administration of President Goodluck Jonathan.

Akpodoro stated this in Abuja during a well-attended meeting of ex-militant leaders, who are members of the National Coalition of Niger Delta Ex-Agitators, NCNDE-A.

He noted that the appointment of the IG was placing a square peg in a square hole, stressing that the new post was deserving of a “complete gentleman” who has the zest to pursue his chosen career with the desired acumen.

The Urhobo-born All Progressives Congress, APC, member called on the incoming administration to consider tapping from the wealth of experience of the IG in “this new era of change.”
