DAMATURU- After a hitch free accreditation, voting commenced at exactly 1:30 pm, in most polling units in Damaturu, the Yobe State capital.

At one of the IDPs camp with over 50,000 displaced persons as result of insurgency in Gujba local government area, Senator Bukar Abba Ibrahim, the emir of Gujba, Alh. Mai Muktar Inn Ali, and the APC house of assembly candidate for Gujba constituency, Bulama Bukar Gwarimi all cast their vote.

In his reaction, Alh Bulama Bukar Gwarimi, the APC candidate for house of assembly, shortly after casting his vote, hailed the people of the IDP camp their resilience, and perseverance.

“I was impressed by the large turn out of internally displaced persons from my constituency, despite all odds, the scorching sun, they came out in numbers to vote the candidate of their choice. and I believed my party APC will win all the assembly seat in the state because that has been the tradition since the inception of democracy. “
