The Plateau State Chapter of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN has congratulated Dr. Alhassan Yakmut over his appointment as the Acting Director General, National Sports Commission describing it as putting a round peck in a round hole.

In a statement issued yesterday in Jos and signed by Thadeus Yilmen and Agabus Pwanagba, Chairman and Secretary of SWAN respectively, the Association added it was optimistic in the Acting DG’s ability to turn the fortunes of the NSC around.

According to the statement, “Your appointment by President Goodluck Jonathan, is like putting a round peck in a round hole. We urged you to be a good ambassador of Plateau State and take Sports in Nigeria to the next level.”

Yakmut was a famous national volleyball player and a former Director of Sports in Plateau State. Until his appointment as DG, he was a Director of Grassroots Sports in the National Sports Commission.
