The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to declare its candidate, Victor Ikpazu, as winner of the April 11 Governorship election in Abia. Mr Olisa Metuh, PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, made the call at a news conference in Abuja on Tuesday.

The spokesman alleged that the military was conniving with INEC officials to deny PDP its deserved victory in Abia, Imo and Taraba States where elections had been declared inconclusive.

Also speaking, Sen. Enyinnaya Abaribe said there was need for INEC to declare Ikpeazu as governor-elect.

He said PDP in Abia had petitioned the INEC Chairman, Prof. Attahiru Jega. Senator-elect, Mao Ohuabunwa, also said: “We have looked at INEC`s paper and copies of the results they brought and our stance is that INEC does not have any reason to declare the election inconclusive.’’

INEC has rescheduled the Abia governorship supplementary election between PDP and the All Progressives Grand Alliance governorship candidate,  Alex Otti, to hold on April 25.
