At least one person has been feared dead in a gun battle alleged to have involved thugs from the two political parties in the state at Omuawa community in Ikwerre LGA.

Ibom-Youths of Ibiono Local Government Area numbering over 2,000 have protested the non-release of complete election materials including result sheets for the governorship and House of Assembly elections.

Many enthusiastic voters turned out in large numbers in many polling centres in Lagos as early as 8.00a.m.for the governorship and House of Assembly polls on Saturday. Also INEC ad hoc staff and election materials arrived early at many polling units contrary to what obtained in the March 28 presidential and national assembly polls.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has alerted the security agencies to cases of violence and disruption of voting in several areas of Lagos, Rivers and Ondo states, urging them to swing into action to ameliorate the situation.
