The Lagos State governor-elect, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode has been urged to include the entertainment industry in the administration’s agenda while diversifying the economy of the state, which is a major contributor to employment.

Swaga Records, Nigeria’s CEO, Steven Frank A.K.A Big Mike, said in a chat with Vanguard, during the training programme that his organisation conducted for young and upcoming Nigerian artistes in Lagos.

The Malaysia-based Frank also noted that there will be a huge benefit for everyone when the Lagos State government gets involved in the cultural exchange programme which Swagga records is presently doing for mutual benefits of both countries.

According to him: ‘’The entertainment industry in Lagos is vast and 50 per cent of it is untapped. There will be benefits for all of us in Lagos if the government of this state starts thinking of diversification and also considering entertainment. ”The governor-elect, Akinwunmi Ambode, who is well suited for the job should consider this industry.

‘’We all saw his resume in Malaysia and we were all baffled about his unique qualifications and comprehensive training. I want to say congratulations Sir. We trust and expect your administration to be accommodating to all Lagosian. The huge amount of money in entertainment in this state with over 20 million people cannot be quantified.

‘’Swagga Records has embarked on this training of young and upcoming artistes because when you don’t give back to the society the organisation has not started work at all. Lagos is blessed with thousands of talented artistes and musicians, why should everyone leave them to their fate. It is also necessary for the already made stars to lend a handing hand to these upcoming ones.

‘’The Nigerian Community in Malaysia also want us to extend the training beyond Lagos because every one wants to be close to their root and be a part of its development. Our record label will also be willing to assist the Lagos Stae government.”
