ABA—KINSMEN of Abia State governor-elect, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, have promised to give him all the support required to deliver good governance to Abia residents.

Some of Ikpeazu’s kinsmen who spoke to Vanguard in Aba, admitted that there was much work for him to do and promised to ensure he delivered good governance as promised.

Ikpeazu’s uncle, Mr Azuogu Nwachukwu, said they were happy that Okezie clinched the electoral victory at last for every Ukwa na Ngwa man after a tough fight.

He said the governor-elect was a very humble and caring person who had what it took to deliver good governance to Abia people, adding that he would not disappoint Abia people.

According to Nwachukwu, Ikpeazu’s view that he came to   serve Abia people, will spur him to fulfil  all his promises.

He stressed that they would give him all he required to make him a governor with an enviable track record of achievements.

In his own contribution, Elder Chibuike Nwokeuku, an Aba-based lawyer, noted that Ikpeazu’s victory was victory for equity, justice, fair play and for every Igbo man to whom Aba is home.

He said Ukwa and Ngwa people were grateful to God for giving them the opportunity which had eluded them for many years, both in military and civilian regimes.

Nwokeuku called on all Abians to join hands with the governor-elect to build Abia State to the status of other neighbouring states that had developed remarkably.

He said Ukwa and Ngwa people would ensure that Ikpeazu put square pegs in square holes, a process he said was the first step for effective delivery of good governance to the people

Rev Leonard Romanus, a member of Ikpeazu’s family, also said the governor-elect’s victory was victory for the Ikpeazu family, the people of Umuobiakwa and Ukwa and Ngwa people.
