Lagos—The traditional ruler of Lagos, Oba Riliwanu Akiolu, yesterday, urged the Igbo who are mostly traders in Lagos to vote for the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, in the next Saturday’s governorship elections in their own interest.
The Oba, who gave the advice at a meeting with Igbo leaders in Lagos in his Iga-Idugaran palace, Lagos Island, said the Igbos have to show appreciation for being warmly welcomed in the state.
In his response, Chairman council of Ndigbos in Lagos, Chief Gordian Dimojiaku said people of Igbo extraction in the state have completely declared their intention to support the APC candidate in the state.
He explained, “Just yesterday (Saturday) we shut Alaba International Market and other notable markets in the state to campaign for Ambode and that is one of the measures we have taken.
”There are other plans to ensure that all the Igbos in the state throw their weight behind the APC candidates in Lagos.”

Also, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Akinwunmi Ambode has been hailed for the extraordinary leadership qualities and uncanny professionalism that stands him out as an excellent public and private sector administrator, the qualities that make him best fit to steer the ship of Lagos into further excellence.
Ambode who was the Special Guest of Honour at a lecture organized by the Ikeja District of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (IDSICAN) yesterday, at the Sheraton Hotel, Lagos.
Ambode was the focal point of an academic research titled “The Effects of Leadership Quality On Public Expenditure Management: Evidence From Lagos State Treasury Under Akinwunmi Ambode As Accountant General”, which was performed to decipher the skill-sets with which he succeeded at shouldering the financial responsibility of the nation’s largest economy for a period of six years.
