ASABA—A Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, chieftain in Delta State, Olorogun Omoru David, has advised the governorship candidate of Labour Party, LP, in the April 11 election, Chief Great Ogboru, against dragging the governor-elect, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa of the PDP and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to the electoral tribunal over the outcome of the election.

Omoru who gave the advice,  while reacting to media reports, where the LP candidate was said to have vowed to challenge Okowa’s victory  at the tribunal, said Ogboru’s decision to go to the tribunal was not in the interest of Deltans.

He noted that Ogboru, whom he described as a serial contender, had never won in any election in Delta State, but had always gone to tribunal to find solace and had never succeeded, saying: “Ogboru’s judicial battle with ex- governor James Ibori and later Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan, cost the state enormous amount of money.”

Noting that  Ogboru and Uduaghan’s case ended barely a year ago,  Omoru advised Chief  Ogboru to learn and abide by the rules of the game and be a sportsman anytime he went on electoral contest.
