A CHIEFTAIN of All Progressives Congress, APC, in Anambra State, Akunwata Modebe, yesterday, said General Muhammadu Buhari (retd) would sanitize the polity, noting that what the President-elect needed was the support of the political class and the generality of Nigerians to enable him succeed.

In a statement in Awka, Modebe observed that once the polity was sanitized, it would be easy to create an enabling and conducive environment for genuine economic growth and development in the country.

He said: “I believe that Buhari will achieve the primary objective of sanitizing the polity.

“It is our belief that not only will he be able to avail Nigerians the power and energy to function productively and industrially, he will also be able to address the system failure that occasioned corruption, disparity and disconnection in the nation.

“Our President-elect has acknowledged that the change from the rot of yore is universal, not being the sole preserve of himself or those at the fore of the push.

“I thus call on every one to support this movement and our champion, Buhari, to give meaning to our collective aspirations, regardless of religion, creed or tribe.”

While congratulating Buhari and APC for the victory at the presidential poll, Modebe said: “The statesmanship of both contestants gives hope for the much desired transformation of the country.”
