ASABA—Delta State House of Assembly candidate of All Progressives Congress, APC, for Isoko South 1 constituency, Mr Okiemute Essien, has called for rerun election in the constituency.
Claiming that he was rigged out by the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Mrs Orezi Esievo, Essien alleged that fake police officers, soldiers and thugs were used to chase him and his agents out of the collation centre.
Similarly, House of Assembly candidate of the APC in the Isoko North constituency, Dr. Andrews Elueni, yesterday, called for the cancellation of the House of Assembly poll in the constituency, alleging the connivance of the PDP with soldiers to rig the election.
Elueni, in a statement, alleged that he was arrested at 12:30 a.m., by men of the 222 Battalion of the Nigerian Army, saying that he was “detained from 2p.m., of April 11, 2015 till close to the conclusion of the election.”
Also, the APC candidate for Warri South I Constituency in the Assembly elections, Robinson Ariyo, has called for cancellation of the exercise, accusing security agencies and INEC of aiding the PDP in rigging the elections.
Ariyo told newsmen in Warri that he had evidence that will cause the nullification of the Warri South I Assembly seat’s election, which he was said characterised by irregularities, describing same as a “rape on the electoral process.”
Also, member representing Ughelli North constituency II in the Delta State House of Assembly, Mr. Jenkins Gwede, Gwede, who is the candidate of the Democratic People’s Party, DPP, has rejected the Assembly election results in the constituency, alleging that the exercise was marred by irregularities.
