A FORMER President of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors, NIQS, Mr. Joseph Olusegun Ajanlekoko has been elected the President of the Commonwealth Association of Surveying and Land Economy, CASLE, the umbrella body for all the surveying professions in the 54 countries that make up the Commonwealth.
Ajanlekoko who is also a past President of the Association of Professional Bodies of Nigeria, APBN and Africa Association of Quantity Surveyors, AAQS, was elected the president of the 52-year old CASLE in Takoradi, Ghana. He becomes the second Nigerian to be elected the President of CASLE. The first was Senator Ebenezar Ikeyinna.
Also elected were five regional presidents. They include Mr. James Dadson, a Ghanaian for African region, Dato Lau Wai Seang for Asia, Dr Charisse Griffith for Atlantic, Mr Brian Waldy for Europe and Mr. Buddley Ronnie for the Pacific.
The President of the Nigerian Institution of Surveyors, M Bern Omo Akhigbe was elected the Vice President for the West African sub-region. Also elected were Mrs Susan Spedding from the UK as Secretary -General and Mr. Tony Westcott also from the UK as Treasurer.
