LAGOS—The Adekunle family in Onipanu area of Lagos State has raised alarm, following the disappearance of their 11-year-old son, Marvellous Adekunle on Wednesday.

Marvelous, a Junior Secondary School 1 student, reportedly disappeared from his parents’ home on Matanmi Street, Onipanu at 6.30a.m.

Vanguard gathered that the boy, an only child, had been wearing a long face since Monday, after he was beaten by his father, Festus, for taking his laptop to school.

It was gathered that he was washing dishes outside, while his father was taking his bath, preparatory to leaving the house with his son.

However, when he came out of the bathroom, Marvellous was gone.

The man was said to have left the house, apparently thinking that his son would later return home to prepare for school, an act he was said to be known for.

However, when his father called home later, he was informed that Marvellous had not returned. It was learned that when his mother was contacted in Abeokuta, Ogun State, she reportedly told her husband not to bother that their son would return home.

She was said to have informed that Marvellous had at one time strayed from home and returned after some days.

Speaking with Vanguard, a relation, Moses Ekundayo, said: “We have reported the incident to Policemen at Alakara.

“Marvellous had been staying with his father for about one year, after leaving his mother who is working in Abeokuta. His father was transferred from Ogun State to Lagos.”
