ASABA—LEADERSHIP of the youth wing of Urhobo Progress Union, UPU, has endorsed President Goodluck Jonathan as its sole candidate in the March 28 presidential election.

National President of the youth wing, Mr Anthony Ovie, who disclosed this when he led other members of his executive, representing over one million youths of Urhobo nation, on a courtesy visit to the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Dr Stephen Oru, said:

“Our support for Jonathan is anchored on the ground that he is the most qualified in terms of experience, qualification, capability, capacity and competence to lead the Nigerian federation.

“He has provided the best leadership in the history of Nigeria. His transformation agenda has been very successful and he has, through dint of hard work and God’s providence upon his life, distinguished himself as a good ambassador of the Niger Delta region.” He commended President Jonathan for listening to the cry of the Urhobo by appointing one of their sons, Dr. Oru as the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs.
