Twelve hurt in NY building collapse, blaze

Twelve people were injured Thursday when a building collapsed and fire tore through a second building, which was also in danger of falling down, in New York’s East Village, the fire department said.

Three of the injured were in a critical condition, a spokesman told AFP. Hundreds of fire fighters were responding to the emergency at 123 and 121 Second Avenue, he added.
