LAGOS—A cross section of the people of Lagos Central Senatorial District is expected at today’s town hall meeting with Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the senator representing the senatorial district.
The town hall meeting which would be the 14th in the series of interactive town hall meetings by the senator since her inauguration in 2011 would be the last before the legislative elections due on March 28.
Senator Tinubu is standing for re-election on that day on the platform of her party, All Progressives Congress, APC.
Today’s town hall meeting themed “Threading the Path to Prosperity,” is scheduled to hold at Shell Hall, Muson Centre, Lagos on Wednesday March 18, 2015 by 9.00 a.m.
A statement issued by her office also disclosed that a book titled “Stewardship Report: A Collection of Town Hall Speeches (2011-2014)” would be unveiled at the ceremony. The unveiling is expected to be performed by Hon. Adeola Solomon Olamilekan, APC Candidate, Lagos West Senatorial District.
The Town Hall Meetings have been a feedback mechanism aimed at promoting transparency and accountability. Past editions also portrayed initiatives for her constituents such as the Post-Secondary Scholarship, PSSS, the Petty Traders Empowerment Capital Scheme, PETECS, Elderly Citizens Assistance Scheme, ECAS, Youth Empowerment & Skills Acquisition Scheme, YESAS, the Good Boys and Girls Empowerment Scheme, GBGES, and free health screenings.
Constituents of the Senatorial District, party chieftains and supporters of the All Progressives Congress, APC, at ward to national levels are expected at the Town Hall Meeting scheduled for Wednesday.
