LAGOS STATE Governorship Candidate of the National Conscience Party (NCP), Comrade Ayodele Akele,is not happy with the huge cost of governance in the state, which he said is hampering delivery of democracy dividends and abolition of poverty, the motto of his party.

Chief Orji Uzor Kalu, former governor of Abia State and well heeled international businessman is making his second attempt for a Senate seat. The first attempt turned into a no contest when according to him he was stopped from stepping out to vote on Election Day by four armoured tanks positioned outside his gate. Kalu who is vying on the ticket of the Progressives Peoples Alliance, PPA in this interview reviews that state of affairs in the country, his native Abia State among other issues.

Enugu — ZONAL Director of the Civil Liberties Organisation South East, Mr. Olu Omotayo, has raised an alarm over alleged selected justice as it concerns the advancement of Biafra activism in the county. The group noted that while members of Movement for the Actualisation for the Soverign State of Biafra, MASSOB, that protested the removal of Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, chairman, Mr. Attahiru Jega, were left untouched, some of their colleagues in the same struggle, led by Mr. Benjamin Onwuka, are currently facing a treason offence.

Enugu — WORKERS of the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, FNH, Enugu have staged a peaceful protest and handed down a 21-day ultimatum to the management within which to address what they described as poor welfare package or be ready for a showdown. The protesting workers under the aegis of Joint Health Sector Union, JOHESU, marched round the premises of the hospital with several placards as a board meeting was going on.
