By Emma Amaize

WARRI—ITSEKIRI leader, Chief Ayiri Emami, yesterday, said the Itsekiri in Delta State were prepared for the ground-breaking of the $16 Export Processing Zone, EPZ, in Ogidigben, Warri South-West Local Government Area of the state by President Goodluck Jonathan, on March 26.

Emami, who spoke on phone with Vanguard, said: “It is not just Ugborodo people, the entire Itsekiri people and Itsekiri council are 100 per cent ready for the ground-breaking. I said 100 per cent because the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse II, has said that he will be there physically.

“In our land, when the Ogiame says he will be at an event, then, you know that the entire Itsekiri will be there. Tell Mr. President that we are prepared to receive him, the governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, the investors for the project and all other people coming with him.”

On security, Chief Emami, who is the Chairman of the Delta Waterways and Security Committee, DWSC, Warri, said safety and security measures had been put in place, adding: “The security agencies, police, army and navy are on ground and we will report whatever observations we have and other relevant information to them.”
