OGWASHI-UKU—The leadership of Aniocha Progressive Assembly, under the platform of Dr. Fidelis Ify Efunwa Foundation, has called on the people of the area as well as Deltans to shun violence, before, during and after the general elections.

The founder and initiator of Aniocha Progressive Assembly, Dr. Fidelis Efunwa, who is also the President of Fidelis Ify Efunwa Foundation, a non governortal organization, made the call while speaking at a grand finale rally held at the Ogweshi-Uku township field to sensitize the people of the area on the need not to allow themselves to be used by politicians to foment trouble.

Efunwa stated that though his foundation was non political, he, however, remarked that he had support for the ruling PDP administration.

Efunwa, while addressing members of the Assembly drawn from all the communities of Aniocha-South Local Government Area, stated that the decision to throw their weight behind the candidates of PDP, including House of Assembly candidate for Aniocha-South constituency, Chief Angela Nwaka, was to bring good governance and leadership to the people. Some speakers on the occasion, including representative of Youths in Diaspora, Mr. Chinedu Enujekor, said there was need for youths to remain focussed and committed.

Speaking, Angela Nwaka thanked the organizers for a job well done and reminded the youths no to create any violence before, during and after the election. Highlight of the ceremony was inauguration of the local executive of the Aniocha-South Progressive Assembly by Dr. Efunwa who also donated three brand new SUVs to the three coordinators of the three clans of the local government.

Responding on behalf of the newly inaugurated coordinators, Chief Iloba Obata thanked the leader of the group and assured to work judiciously to ensure peaceful coexistence among one another in the area. The event was witnessed by party chieftains, including Chief Paul Okwufulueze, Vincent Ogogo, Prince Emeka Ekweneuya, among others.
