Electoral materials arrive Oyo

INEC official displays an empty ballot box

Ibadan—RESIDENT Electoral Commissioner in Oyo State, Ambassador Rufus Akeju yesterday took delivery of ballot papers and other election materials which were brought by the officials of the Central Bank of Nigeria.

The materials which were loaded in three articulated trucks were supervised by security agents, including the police and the men from the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.

They were received in the presence of representatives of political parties and other stakeholders.

The materials were led into the premises of INEC in Ibadan by the branch Head Controller, CBN Ibadan, Mr. Musibau Olatinwo.

He delivered the message from the INEC national chairman, Prof. Atahiru Jega, that the materials should be distributed only according to permanent voters received in each local government in order to check electoral fraud during the election.
