Elections: Group urges security agencies to remain neutral

By Gbenga Oke

Chief-Obasanjo-voting-in-AbA group under the auspices of All Progressives Congress State Publicity Secretaries, CAPS, has called on security agencies to remain neutral, unbiased and professional in the disch- arge of their duties during the general elections. The group also called on the security agencies to arrest all those involved in the purchase of voters cards and other related electoral offences.

In a statement by CAPS after a summit to review the coming 2015 elections, the group charges the Nigerian Police, Nigerian Civil Defence Corps, State Security Service and all other civil authorities connected to security in the coming elections and being paid by Nigerian tax payers to remain neutral, professional and unbiased in the discharge of their duties during the Elections.

We also urge the law enforcement agencies to ensure that no money is shared to voters in or around voting centres in Nigeria during the elections to avoid election disruption which may arise
