Akure—BASKING in the euphoria of its performance in the general elections, the APC in Ondo State yesterday lauded the people of the state for expressing their preferences without fear or favour for the party.
The state chairman of the APC in the state, Hon. Isaac Kekemeke said in Akure that “ so far so good, not perfect but generally okay.
“The elections generally are acceptable. We are happy that the card readers was used to reduce incidents of electoral malpractices.
“We are gratefuk to the Ondo people for coming out in large numbers and expressing their preferences without fear or favour.
“We as a party will continue to respect their wish and take their interest as a paramount determinant of our actions and in actions
“We commend to a large extent the REC and the Police for ensuring a generally peaceful election
“We plead with our people to remain calm and shun violence particularly post election violence
“They should remember that 22ears ago, exactly in 1983 that we lost some of our brightest and best. We are yet to recover from it.
“We should not do anything that could bring back that bad memory. We should not because of election lose our humanness and humanity.
Also speaking, the national publicity secretary of SDP, Remi Olayiwola, commende Nigerians for the peaceful manner they conducted themselves during the elections.
Olayiwola said Nigerians love democracy that was why there was no crisis as everyone conducted themselves in a good manner.
The PDP director of publicity, Ayo Fadaka, however, expressed optimism that despite the state performance, the party will still win the presidential election.
Fadaka declared that “ we will get nothing short of victory having two geo political zones of South-South and South East in its kitty.
