Ekiti jailbreak escapees caught during fresh robbery

IBADAN—THE Oyo State Police Command has arrested some suspects who were allegedly involved in Ekiti jail break which occured in November last year.

The suspects, according to the police, were arrested in connection with another robbery incident.

While parading the suspects at the state police headquarters, Eleyele, Ibadan, the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Muhammed Katsina, said the command pre-election efforts also led to the arrest of eight armed robbers that had earlier snatched a Toyota Camry from Madam Oluwafolakemi Fabode in Akure, Ondo State, and thereafter proceeded to Oyo State and attacked Joba Pharmacy and a filling station at Iroko on Oyo/Ibadan road.

He explained further that as the suspects fled    the scene    they   ran into a nearby ambush.

“Investigation also revealed that the leaders    of the robbery    gang, one Boluwaji    Olawumi, John Isaac and Fagboyegun Wale were among those that escaped in the Ekiti jail break on November 30, 2014 where they were awaiting trial for armed robbery and murder.”
