Senate President David Mark on Saturday appealed to the electorate to be calm due as accreditation for the Presidential and National Assembly Elections progressed. Mark made the appeal shortly after his accreditation at the Otukpo Club Polling Unit at exactly 10.a.m.

The senate president was accompanied to the polling unit by members of his immediate family. He made the appeal against the backdrop of hitches encountered by voters undergoing accreditation in polling units across the state. Mark said he had to clean his fingers several times before his fingerprints were verified.

” I experienced some little hitches myself.” He said it was important for voters to exercise patience since the exercise was a novel in the country. According to him, hitches are to be expected since this is the first major outing with the machines.

He expressed satisfaction with the turnout of voters and described the exercise as peaceful. ” It is a very sensitive and important election, we must exercise our civic responsibility,” he said.
