LAGOS—Governorship candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Jimi Agbaje, and his All Progressive Congress, APC counterpart, Akinwunmi Ambode will today field questions from the women of Lagos State at the first Lagos governorship Gender Dialogue holding at the Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja.
They will be joined by gubernatorial flag bearers of the National Conscience Party, NCP, Ayodele Akele; KOWA Party, Victor Adeniji; and Alliance for Democracy, AD, Bolaji Ogunseye.
The first Lagos gubernatorial gender dialogue is an initiative of Vanguard Newspapers, the Women Advocates Research and Documentation Centre, WARDC, in collaboration with Silverbird.
The dialogue, which will have in attendance the Nigerian Civil Society, members of the Diplomatic Corp and media, will tackle the candidates on their policies regarding gender related issues, such as health, education, poverty alleviation, decision making, environment, disability, among others.
Participating candidates are expected to sign a gender pact, a 12-point demand prepared by women and civil society groups in Lagos State.
